DescriptionI used to do alot more commissions, but some collectors started to get more specific about silly elements. You know..'can you move her arm a liittle higher" or "make the boobs bigger", that kinda of stuff. So it was easier to just draw Pinups and post them here on CAF.I like doing them, nothing pleases an artist more than when a fan is happy with their artwork, but an artist doesn't want to feel like a short order cook either. A commission involves trust from both parties. Anyway this particular piece was done during my 1st year on the JSA , the commissioner just wanted a simple group shot, but I had fun and added alot more work & details than what I was paid for. I would love to hear people's opinion on this...... Social/Sharing |

I hope that the artists didn't think I was a hardass about my commissions over the years. In the end, if you have more and more specifics, the more likely you are to be disappointed with your commission. Interesting mix of characters. Mike, is Dr Fate holding something in his right hand besides the cape??

just the cape, with perhaps too much scrunch. As far as how specific, or how much direction I guess that would depend on the artist. One wouldn't want to choke creativity, but you would want to get the picture you asked for.

Since you asked....Stunning, I wish you did more commissions, since pinups tend to be of more popular characters and its more fun and personal to have a commission featuring second tier characters. When was the last time someone asked you for the Earth 2 Atom in his second uniform or the MLJ-Mighty Web, or my favorite obscure character; the Harvey-Black Cat? Last year's big commission was Frank Brunner doing Tomahawk, I'll bet no one had asked him for that before.
