Description
I met Mr. Frazetta at the 1995 San Diego Con. He wasn't a scheduled guest, but I overheard someone saying he was at the Christie's Booth. I hurried over, and waited in line behind pros and fans alike waiting for a moment with him. He was taking time to meet and speak with everyone. I thought about getting him to sign the Thunda 1 I bought earlier that day, but after watching him struggle to do a detailed signature for the person ahead of me, I thought better about it. I just wanted the chance to meet him, to tell him what a fan I am, to show him that my whole reason for coming to that show was to get a nice Thunda 1. He was extremely gracious and friendly, and not the least bit impatient with the crowd of goofy fanboys (pros included) gathered around him. I told him I had an Abner sunday of his, and he asked how I know he did it, since he wasn't allowed to draw in his own style. I told him I could see it in the faces, and in the little Slobovian characters who looked like some of the characters from his sketch books. I don't often care anymore about meeting people whose work I admire, because the personal experience can often be disappointing. Not this time.

Cool story there! Nice to hear you had such a great experience meeting the master! Frazetta is definitely one of a kind!
