DescriptionThis is my very first commissioned piece. When I found out Matt Wagner did commissions and that he was coming to Boston for the 2011 Comic Con, I contacted him about doing a piece for me.I gave him a small list of ideas and he picked The Count of Monte Cristo. "I f*#king LOVE that book!" if I may quote him. When I received the piece, I was dumb struck by it and very, very pleased. The way that the hands are depicted is wonderful. The exposed, public hand on the cane is relaxed and the hidden hand under the cloak is clinched. It even has the prison Château d'If in the background which is one of my favorite sections of Alexandre Dumas' book. I have been a big fan of Matt's for many years and this is one of the best pieces that I have seen of his commissioned works (that's not easy to say either) and it was done for me! Holy S*%t! Done in Colored Pencil, Marker & Acrylics. Measuring roughly 8 1/2"x11". Social/Sharing |
