DescriptionMere words can not convey the power, sensuality, beauty, and serenity of seeing this art in person!Comparing this beautiful image to the actual art would be like a comparison between radio and HD TV ;) Thank you again Arantza for this masterpiece! Once upon a time, I bought a Wolverine & Zealot poster sized original artwork by Jim Lee. A small fortune was paid for this artwork and after a frame was added, the artwork hung on a wall from boyhood home, to apartment, to my current townhouse. The artwork was created at Wondercon which at the time was in Oakland. Jim and the original Image founders had just created their new company and the artwork was one of the first images of Jim's Wildc.a.t.s. and last of his work on the X-Men. At the time it seemed unlikely that Jim would ever draw any X-Men characters again. The thought of selling the art never occurred to me... and yet as an artaholic, there is always the seduction of new art. As I have some other Jim Lee treasures, it was time to let this one go. So after some inquires and back and forth with a couple of collectors, I sold Wolvie & Z and shipped the art off to a new home. I already had in mind one piece of art to use from my sacrifice and made arrangements for my gorgeous Amy Pond by Brian Stelfreeze to be painted at Wondercon. My mind pondered on what other art to acquire with my new art fund. J. Scott Campbell was a thought but I was not sure if I could get on his list or how long it might take even if I made it on the list. Jason Palmer does incredible work, but I have three Palmers already. I wanted something epic to replace W & Z. And I came across a commission price list on CAF of Arantza. I remembered buying an art book of hers just because of one image of a maiden with a dragon wing behind her. So I contacted Arantza and started to ask about commissions. Several emails were lost in translation but eventually an idea and price were agreed upon, and work began. My original thought was to have a redhead to symbolize the idea of love in a fantasy environment with maybe a wolf or small dragon in the background. Arantza's art is lush and evocative with rich colors. Here is the finished image sent to my email inbox the other day... And here are W & Z, Amy Pond, and Arantza's website http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=582787&GSub=90949 http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=746990&GSub=92247 http://www.arantza.info/web/menueng.html Social/Sharing |

Ah, so you finally decided to post her. I can't believe this, but she's actually even more beautiful than the first time you showed her to me! Thanks for that sneak peek by the way. Maybe some day I'll be able to gaze at this wonder in person. Until then, I offer my heartiest congratulations!
