Description

Here's a picture of Stuart Sayger and I at the 2011 Heroes Con show. I commissioned Mr. Sayger for a piece featuring Magik, as I thought his style would really make for a striking rendition of the character Bill Sienkiewicz so defined in the 80's.

When I came by his table to pick the piece on the last day of the show, however, he was very reluctant to let me walk away with it. You see...Mr. Sayger wasn't at all happy with the way it turned out. He asked me if I'd be willing to let him take it home and give him another crack at the piece--where he could put forth his best effort on it. Even though--when I got a glimpse of the first version of it, I thought it was dynamite--his reaction surprised me, I was more than happy to let him give the piece another go.

In this picture, Mr. Sayger's hiding the artwork that vexed him so, so as to keep it from your prying eyes! The real piece won't be hidden so! Thanks, Mr. Sayger!!! :D

Awesome!! Mr. Sayger has a great sense of humour and stays so true to who is he is as an artist. You look thrilled to have met him. And I don't blame you. :)
