"X-Men Emergency!" Owning this page is so fulfilling-- it's my favorite page out of all the New X-Men issues on which Phil Jimenez worked, and I missed it the first time I saw it for sale on Ebay. The delicate crosshatching on Professor X's face is marvelous! I'm another step closer to owning a page from each artist who worked on New X-Men with Grant Morrison! Fantastic portrait ! Just proves how great an artist Phil Jimenez truly is - he doesn't need to stay in his comfort zone (large groups images) to provide stunning art ! This one looks really great... I don't know why, but Jimenez really makes bald guys shine... :)

Even at the scale that's presented digitally on CAF, you can appreciate the painstaking detail that went into this one. I marvel at how artists like Phil conceive of a piece like this one and how disciplined and confident an inker like Andy must be to fully nurture it to fruition. Wow, Doc!

One of the (many!) things Phil Jiminez excels at is (of course) his amazing drawings of the hair of his characters, and although that's not on display here (boom!), the time he obviously saved in that department was absoutely invested into the amazing detail of this piece. Great inks, too - super awesome piece! This was a great issue, and I totally remember this splash. Another great pick up!
