Description

This is page 4 of the story Derelict Ship from Weird Fantasy 22

I acquired this page from Mike Burkey years ago. I later traded it to longtime EC art collector Don Lineberger. I often thought longingly of the page, and missed having it in my collection.

Tragically, Don died in a house fire, and it was thought that all the art in his collection was destroyed in the fire.

While I was at the San Diego Comic-Con, I stopped at Mike Burkey's booth. This page was on Mike's table. Stunned, I asked Mike where he got the page. He said he had just purchased it from the representative of Don's estate. He said a metal box was found at Don's house, which contained some art that survived the fire. I promptly re-acquired this page.

So, I originally got this page from Mike, traded it to Don, it arose from the ashes of Don's house fire, found its way back to Mike, who reconveyed it to me. A story worthy of an EC comic!

Rest in peace Don.

Funny thing is, the page once belonged to me. Got it from a French collector. I later traded it to Mike Burkey. So, it's been around Europe on its travels back to you!
