This is the cover to the very rare
Adam Warren Sketchbook from 1996. It features Kei, Yuri, and a super-deformed Mughi from Adam's own
Dirty Pair comic as described by creator Haruka Takachiho. The next two girls are Jamadagni and Gabrielle from Adam's 1996 DC Elseworlds project

Neon Genesis Evangelion. This dojinshi book was published in Japan by one of Adam's friends who sold it at the Winter 1996 Comic Market in Tokyo. I heard a small number were packed up and brought back in a suitcase. I bought my copy from Adam at his SDCC Dark Horse signing at SDCC in 1997.
In June 2011, I contacted Adam and passed along my brother Stuart's offer to publish a new sketchbook. They agreed and the book was sold at the con. I stayed close to the booth on Thursday and met Adam late in the day. At that point, he was distributing the previous year's commission requests and I received my lovely Mindf**k in Space drawing. When Adam came back on Friday to sign some books, he brought his art portfolio and I immediately pulled this one for purchase. I bought one
Dirty Pair illustration as well as setting up a commission for 2012. At this con, I spent a couple hours with Adam as Rae, Darcy, and I laid out hundreds of sketchbooks for his autograph. These signed copies are available from

One particularly interesting commission published in the book is an image of
Ridd1e's EMPOWERED cosplay. Note the comments by Terry Dodson, Rick Mays, and Allison Sohn (aka Mrs. Adam Hughes) on the drawing.
