Description

This recreation is the latest of my continuing series of studies of the comic art masters that have had a major influence on my early art development.

This original Pogo piece was done by the great Walt Kelly in 1971. (It contains his famous line, "We have met the enemy and he is us.") I personally consider Kelly the greatest funny animal artist ever!

My recreation was done on 11"x 17" bristol (with image size measuring 10 1/2" x 12 1/2") with brush, and india ink. The lettering was done by hand with Speedball quill pens.

This piece is an example of a commission I created for a client.
