Description

Where to begin? Terry Austin is best known for inking John Byrne on X-Men and Marshall Rogers on Batman. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Austin has collaborated with pretty much every significant penciller in the comics biz. He is certainly one of my all-time favorite inkers/finishers. Any artwork he embellishes inevitably looks fabulous. Austin has also worked on the Star Wars comic books at various times over the years, inking Carmine Infantino's pencils for Marvel, and adapting the SW novel Splinter of the Mind's Eye for Dark Horse. With all that in mind, I was definitely keen on the notion of getting a SW sketch by him. I asked him for Pricess Leia, since I figured that she would be relatively simple to sketch. Instead, Austin decided to draw everyone's favorite whiny protocol droid, C3P0. Austin put a great deal of of time and detail into this sketch, and it came out very well indeed. You can almost hear C3P0 sighing "Oh dear, we're doomed!"
