DescriptionHere's a great action page from the Cap Marvel serie ChrissCross drew with writing by Peter David. I loved that serie! His art was top notch and like nothing else on the stand, full of pulsating energy. Excellent storytelling, facial expressions that could rival with Maguire's, the man is a rare talent. Look at this page, besides Cap collecting energy in a very manga inspired pose, there are speedlines, a huge explosion that may seem like a given nowadays but he was one of the very first to integrate them in such a bold way, not toned down to suit the habits of comic book readers but assimilating the manga effets as is. And that panel were Cap flies, well, you believe he actually is as the sense of height and deepness is exceptional. That page may seem simple but it's a showcase of an underappreciated fabulous artist imo :)Social/Sharing |
