Description

Another piece from Kawaii Kon 2011. I saw Doug at a table selling a bunch of mousepads featuring his art. I took a shot and asked if he'd do a commission for me. He said he normally doesn't because of the time factor, but decided to take on my request. I first discussed the project with him on Friday, and Saturday morning I came by and saw that he had started the piece but on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. I asked if he'd be willing to do the piece on bristol if I paid a little more, and he agreed. He continued to work on it through Saturday and into Sunday afternoon. My flight was leaving at around 6:50PM that night, so I was nervously pacing around in Artist Alley waiting for him to complete the piece. Just before 5:00PM, I went back to his table and this is what he gave me. Simply stunning. (He plans to produce some mousepads using this image.) Awesome piece done in ink and copics.
