Description

This is kind of a complicated story. David was the GOH at a science fiction convention and he promised me on the first day that he would do a drawing for me. The convention people kept him pretty busy, and every time we ran into each other he apologized for not having done it yet. On the last day of the convention, he told me he wouldn't be able to do one for me UNLESS I was willing to accept a compromise. He showed me his sketchbook, where he does small, color roughs of paintings. One of the roughs was of a man firing a machine gun while holding a woman in front of a wanted poster of himself. Ok, got that? David offered to paint over the man, essentially turning him into The Shadow. I readily agreed (what? I'm going to say no?). He did the paint-over in front of me, and tore the page out of his book. He gave it to me as a gift. Pretty damn cool, huh?
