I risked it, and everything looks original.

Hi, thanks for posting this interesting piece. I'm writing a book about Winsor and Robert McCay, and this is indeed from Robert's 1947 Little Nemo revival, where he cut out and re-arranged his father's original artwork in order to make it fit into the new horizontal half-page format. The last panel is taken from the April 29, 1906 Sunday, and the rocket & the speech balloon are covering exactly the space where the original had a giant vulture. Typical for Robert. But - is this father Winsor's original panel or an exact copy? Normally, Robert didn't bother copying, he just cut out his father's drawings. But I'm pretty sure the complete original 1906 Sunday, including the last panel, is in a French collection. Hard to tell what happened, without seeing your original. Anyway, you should be very careful with your description in order to avoid disappointments. Best, Ulrich
