Legion of Superheroes Homage to Uncanny X-Men 101 ( Dawnstar : Dark Destiny Part 3 of 3 )

I love this cover. Uncanny X Men 101 is of course famous for launching the classic " Pheonix Saga " storyline and the cover has an iconic status.

What made this issue special for me, however ,was that it is also the first time a storyline in the Marvel Universe was set in Ireland ( my birthplace ). Decades earlier DC had done an Atom story featuring Zatanna on the Hill of Tara in Co.Meath. I remember being more excited about seeing Cassidy Keep than the appearance of the Pheonix

Regardless, it is a striking cover and one that Greg felt was fitting to close out his Dawnstar Dark Destiny trilogy. All three of these have just flowed together. Greg is a great guy and I strongly urge you to consider him for your commission project.

Chris Ivy did a neat job linking all three commissions with logo's etc. Just as the Pheonix rises from the ashes, Dawnstar of the Legion reaches for the skies.
