This piece was done for the Supergirl (New 52) jam on the TRDL R3 Forum and TRDL-R3-WeeklyJam group on dA.
I haven�t read much in the way of Supergirl, and remember her mainly from 80s DC Comics in which she appeared, such as Crisis. I don�t have much sense of her in the modern period, though I always kind of liked the costume, because realistically, it has a flowy cheerleader type skirt and boots, and that appealed to my ribald instincts. When I saw the slew of New 52 reboot designs, I liked some and feared for others, but Supergirl was sort of in the middle there. I liked the look of the design overall, but I didn�t think the �panty triangle� business was flattering on the pelvis if the legs moved or bent at all, and the knee overlap thing going on really stymied me. After exploring it in a few roughs for this piece, I came to terms with the knee boots thing, visualizing the upper part more like a thigh bracer or something, rather than thigh high boots with the knees cut out. Anyway, I generally enjoyed doing this pinup. It�s the second of a new pin-up series called Wrongrobot�s Rudiments, based on the alphabet trope.
