DescriptionStanley Pitt The Witching Hour #14 page 7 Original Art (DC, 1971). Australian artist Stanley Pitt was greatly inspired by Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon. From 1946-1948, his newspaper strip Silver Starr in the Flameworld, ran in the Sydney Sunday Sun. Later, the tales were reprinted as comic books by Young's Merchandising, in the early 1950s, and Cleveland Press in 1958. Stanley Pitt is celebrated as a leading illustrator of science-fiction, as well as one of the finest Australian comic artists in the classic tradition. This is really terrific. Almost half Alex Raymond and half Wally Wood. I'm not too familiar with this artist, but I really like it.
