I'm a big fan of
Bone by
Jeff Smith. If you haven't read this series, you are missing a treat.
I found Bone with issue #3 and have thoroughly enjoyed the series. I've shared it with many folks and they've enjoyed it as well.
The bad news is from the comic art collection point of view is that Jeff donated all of the original Bone art to Ohio State University and, therefore, there isn't much of his art available.
Even con sketches have gotten quite expensive for very simple drawings. I have two:

Enter the 20th Anniversary Special Edition of Bone. This one volume edition of the story is the full color Scholastic version and it comes with a number of extras. The most important of which is a pen and ink drawing by Jeff of Fone Bone reading which was then water colored by Steve Hamaker.
For our 29th anniversary, Kathy got me a copy of this Special Edition and I now have a Bone to call my own!
