Description

Typical fun Judge Rummy vaudeville-style gag. I can't find this one in any of the online newspaper archives, but the previous owner thought it was 1920, and that's probably close enough. I've given up on making sense of Dorgan's maddening and confusing way of numbering his strips, and they usually don't seem to indicate dates.

It's interesting to contract Tad's Judge Rummy strips with his Indoor Sports panels, which he did concurrently. The Rummy strips are always quickly drawn and highly simplified, while the Indoor Sports panels are detailed and filled with hatching and delineated settings. As the 20s progressed, old-fashioned Rummy tapered off but Tad continued to draw Indoor Sports until his death.
