I actually found CAF while searching for The Source of Magic original cover painting. Unfortunately, I was a few years too late to buy it from Doug. He was kind enough to drum up the preliminary tone drawing for me.

This Xanth paperback has the dubious honor of being the first book I ever bought with my own money - from a garage sale in 1979 or 1980. The fantastic cover made my mother think of an article she had read about a dangerous new cult of "Dungeons and Dragons" - and confiscated the book.
