A Timely Intervention By The Police

After seeing Ryan's sketchbook when he was a guest at our Kansas City show, The MO-KAN Comics Conspiracy, and seeing the wonderful color pieces he had I brought some of my color supplies in on Sunday. Sunday morning is pretty slow so I show off my art collection and show the guests some of my favorite old comics. He asked what I wanted and I said anything he wanted to do. The only thing he didn't want to do at that point was Hawkman. I jokingly said even Sugar and Spike and when said he would need reference I showed him copies culled from several issues. He said he had to draw the lion policeman. He apologized for the weak joke which I didn't even notice for a minute but he unintentionally began what I hope isn't now a theme to my sketchbook.
