Description

Another example of the Whedon-Cassaday tag-team genius that made "Astonishing X-Men" jaw-droppingly good. We were set up to expect a free-for-all fight between the newly-animated Danger Room and the X-Men in the series' previous issue, but instead of going directly to mano-a-mano (or mano-a-robo), Whedon slows things down and has Danger allow her opponents a single question to gauge her intentions. And like her opponents, we let the action go on hold and hang on every word. (Hank asks a seemingly innocuous question which forces her to reveal a good deal of her motives in attacking the team. Not that it helps them two pages later...)
