Description

Deadly Insect is a 6/1 creature with shroud for 5. Can deal a great deal of damage unblocked however would have been better to have trample. Has ability also to kill a large creature. Having shroud is a 2 edged sword. Although opponent can't target him with spells, player can't give any pump up spells or beneficial enchantments. Also 1 defense makes him easy to kill by any blocking creature. This is one of Randy Gallegos' earlier arts for MTG. The art style reminds me of a 50's horror movie poster. His later art is more digital/ realistic like with amazing detail.

Agree about the retro-feel to this art. In some ways this reminds me of one of Norman Saunders Mars Attacks card artwork that featured giant bugs! Good artwork.
