I've been interested in getting a page by Robbins for a while but the right piece hadn't show up -- until now. What's amazing is that this is almost entirely brushwork. His facility is incredible --- of course Robbins had done a syndicated strip for 33 years by this point so he'd picked up a few tricks. His Johnny Hazards of this period are no where near as interesting as this but I think Robbins was able to experiment more in his comic pages since they were larger and he didn't have a daily deadline. That was one of the advantages of DC back then; not being sequentially driven like Marvel (where story lines would go one for months and it would be disaster if the deadlines were missed) artists could have more time to produce stand alone stories. I don't think it's a coincidence that Kaluta and Wrightson came to prominence in that system.

That's a knockout page. You've got a good eye. The details are much appreciated also.

I'm green with envy on this one, Greg.
