DescriptionHere is the climatic final page splash from Avengers X-Sanction issue # 3. The issue was published by Marvel February 1st 2012. Art by the amazing Ed McGuinness and Dexter Vines team! Some fun dialogue by Jeph Loeb:Wolvie: "We're taking back the Avengers. Even if it means we gotta KILL CABLE to do it!" Spidey: "YEAH! Wait... What...?!" The original pencils were published in the Hard Cover book prior to Dexter Vines' inks. There was also a rare look at Ed's original pencils for this page featuring Spidey and Wolvie in the X-force style costumes. Due to plot work Ed had to erase and redraw Spiderman's and Wolverine's costumes on this splash. I've added scans of Ed's amazing pencil work. Fantastic splash George! I know Ed was born to draw the Hulk but he also does a great Spidey.

3 Major characters, all drawn big on the page, all facing directly right out at the reader, now THAT's a splash page! And they're all perfect depictions - Wolvie with menacing claws a-poppin, Spidey shooting webs, and Cable with big-ass gun! I'll echo what others have said, that this definitely could/should have been a cover. Love the look on Wolverine's face, and the write-up reveal on the history of the page too!
