Description

I was a big fan of Mike's since his Flash run and him being on The Fantastic Four was a dream come true, but he had never been a guest at a nearby con.

I started going to Heroes Con in 2004. Mike Wieringo was the main reason.

I struck out the first year; Mike's sketch list had already filled up. I was on the list in 2005 but Mike ran out of time. (He did do a quick sketch in my Hellboy journal for me as a consolation.)

In 2006 I was rewarded for my patience.

Shortly after Heroes Con 2007 Mike was gone.

I'm so glad I started making the trek to Charlotte every year and was able to meet Mike and tell him how much I loved his work and to pick up some original art and especially this piece.
