Description

This is arguably one of my favorite pages from the Abnett/Lanning run. Loved the banter in the series as much as the action, and on this page Phyla-Vell is shopping with Drax, convincing him to let her cook him some macaroni and cheese for dinner, then they talk briefly about Heather (Drax's daughter/Phyla's lover)'s death. Lots of emotional ground is covered.. and a Cosmo cameo, to boot! :)
I'm always drawn to this page on Randy's site, so it's awesome that I finally can call it "mine". :) I think it's because of their banter, Phyla's innocence/harrassment of an already irritated Drax, and Phyla's giddiness in panels 2 & 3, with Drax's comment pumping her brakes emotionally in the fifth panel (with everything being colored, but Phyla's head being completely black to match the somber tone of Drax's comment). A brilliant page.
Couldn't fly it home from Heroes, so a friend has it at the moment... I'll also post a scan of the actual page when i get my scanner up and running again. Honestly one of my favorite pages from the series; I think it's fair to say that Abnett/Lanning's GotG is one of my favorite series since I've come back to comics, in the late '00s.
