Description
Jeff Jones, also known as Jeffrey Catherine Jones, created the comic strip "Idyl" for the National Lampoon Magazine in the 1970s.
This statue of the main character from "Idyl," of plaster with a steel armature inside, was one of an edition of 100 made in Plaster of Paris and signed by him in 1970.
The statue is 13" tall, and the base is about 5x4". It weighs 3 lbs.
There is plaster missing from the shins on both legs and a barely visible crack almost all the way through that area, but a sculptor or restorer should be able to easily repair these. There is soiling to the statue and Jones' signature is almost completely obliterated from where it was located on the base. There are what looks like the remains of his signature on the plinth but we won't swear to it.
