It was well over a year ago that I read about Russ Heath hitting a bad patch. While his health was fine he needed some help paying off his medical bills. It took me 2 seconds to figure out what I wanted him to draw and get the check in the mail. While the guy who was spearheading the effort seems to have disappeared (never bothered to answer any of my e-mails) Russ totally came through. It seems that there was a whole bunch of folks who'd chipped in so it wasn't until just this last Thursday that I actually got the art.

Great to see that Russ still has it. I'd put that Rock up against anything by Kubert. Love the pose and Rock's face. Plus the Sgt. Fury is such solid badass. You can just tell that rifle's empty and Fury's gonna just start beating krauts with it. Love all the detail / shading he put into Fury and the tank.

This is simply incredible! (...and you did a good deed too!) Congratulations! This is one of my new favorite pieces. I too have a Sgt. Rock by Heath in my gallery, and I really cherish it.
