Wonder Man - The Long Shadow

More Bronze Age Avengers. I've seen this layout a bunch of times but it was catching Ryan Cody's cover to Game Change that really set my mind a workin'. Reading the Count Nefaria story again with it's focus on Simon's insecurities really brought home the idea of how to combine the two. So here, by the pen of the great Mitch Ballard, is Simon confronting his worst memories: his working with the Baron Zemo and the Masters of Evil, his being resurrected as a part of the original Legion of the Unliving, his brother Eric as the Grim Reaper and his fight with Count Nefaria himself.

You may not see it at this resolution but there's some seriously great faces here. The large Simon, the Reaper's, Nefaria's. The best, though, is the Executioner's in the top panel. Beautiful "who does this guy think he is?" look. More reason's why Mitch is pure awesome.
