Baltimore Con Liberty Meadows - Joseph Linsner

If you obtained 20 autographs in the 2012 Baltimore Comic Con Yearbook, which featured Liberty Meadows art from about 30 artists, then you were rewarded with two exclusive Liberty Meadows prints. Linsner created the one you see here.

I did the whole convention scavenger hunt and got a signature from just about every pinup artist in the yearbook. When I went to collect the two prints, I found the booth was busy auctioning off the original artwork used for the book and prints. I guess I was having so much fun in the autograph hunt that I didn't realize an art auction was going on.

I got to the booth and the very first piece I saw was this Linsner art. I had not collected my prints yet, so the auction was the first time I saw it. I thought it was the coolest Linsner I've ever seen. I placed my bid, gave my name, saw one more item, and proceeded to the Frank Quitely line (staying at that auction would have gotten me in serious trouble).

I thought this was a tribute to Steranko's Agent of Shield #6, but Joe clarified that this was more of a tribute to Wally Wood. I love seeing Dean smoking in space. And the colors are so sensational. This made my Saturday at the con.

BTW, I almost never get autographs from artists, but the Baltimore scavenger hunt was probably the greatest con idea ever.
