DescriptionI liked the two covers Philip recently did for Demon Knights (though only one was published), and they gave me the idea to have him do Etrigan at the recent Las Vegas Comic Expo. The result, as you can see, is quite spectacular. The lightning effects with whiteout look awesome in person.Philip admitted to me that he was never a fan of the Demon and always saw him as a knockoff of the Gargoyle from The Defenders. Funnily enough, when I came back a few hours later to pick up the piece (it was still drying before) he was working on a headshot of Etrigan for another fan who saw my piece and loved it. I told Philip he had cursed himself and would be doing Etrigan for years! Social/Sharing |

Great piece! I love this character. And no disrespect to Phiip, but I don't think you can consider The Demon to be a Gargoyle knockoff, since Jack Kirby created the character long before Gargoyle popped up in the Defenders. If anything, it's the other way around.

Very nice choice of character. Phil, as always, killed this piece for you. Congrats.
