I'd seen the cover go up on Mr Darrows unofficial tmblr, and was really taken with it. I've always felt that if I sit and enjoy his art for long enough, that beautiful detail takes on a life of it's own, and it transforms from static image to this kind of sublime HD slo-motion sequence. so it was with this image of Wade slowly dropping through the sky leaving that great "steam" of ordnance in his wake I knew I had to ask. Again for my birthday everyone had chipped in with the words "only something special", and this massively qualified.
Once I contacted Scott Eder, he took it all in hand, Geof was wonderfully kind enough to part with it, yes, they could be flexible with payments, yes, he could organize to have it sent back to be personalized, nothing was too much trouble. So after everyone's birthday gift put down the initial deposit, it just took some ebay recycling, and selling my Marvel minimate collection later, and voila ! 8¬)
Totally worth it. 1000 apologies for my (as per usual) abysmal photo skills, I've included a better image from online, and the finished cover with Peter Doherty's amazing colouring. Man, I can't stop smiling, what a lovely, lovely day. Thanks so much to Scott for all his legwork, in the midst of everything happening in Brooklyn and NY right now, his time and trouble is hugely appreciated.
