Thor: Blood Oath #2 Splash Page Art by Scott Kolins (Marvel 2005)

Artist Scott Kolins is responsible for at least two of my favorite trips back to the early days of the Avengers. With Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2004) writer Joe Casey and Scott Kolins did perfect justice to the origins of the team in a six-issue limited series that faithfully wove detail and substance into the Avengers mythology. In 2005, Scott Kolins was paired with writer Michael Oeming for Thor: Blood Oath in a truly fun and fantastically rendered Tale of Asgard involving Thor and the Warriors Three. I met Scott Kolins at New York Comic Con 2012 and was amazed that this splash page to  Thor: Blood Oath #2 hadn't already been snatched up by another lucky fan.
