DescriptionJustice League of America 148 was part of a story I loved and loathed at the same time. I was a fan of the JLA, JSA and the Legion so seeing a cover that proclaims a battle between 3 Villains and 19 Heroes was a dream come true. The art was amazing. I would love to have some pages from either Issue 147 &148 in my collection. The cover was stunning but the story was poorly executed. A running sub plot was that the Legion characters were "kids" in comparison to the members of the JLA & JSA. Watching them been talked down in a condescending manner, well that just didn't sit well with a Legion fan like me. I was even a little pissed that Superman didn't speak up in more of a defense of his past (and future ) teammates. So fast forward a decade or two and I get to pay homage ( to the bits of the story that I did like). In truth this Chapter of " When Worlds Collide "is a good old fashioned Round-Robin, Superhero-Slug-fest. This project started with Peter Temple who has done other awesome pieces for me . But it didn't flow as well as others. No fault on Peter's part, I think the choice of initial characters and their placement on the page didn't help but it was a learning curve. I put it aside and returned to it later with Alex . Alex Garcia did a great job. He even managed to add more characters than was on the original cover . I highly recommend him to others on CAF. Russell Payne did a great job too. Sometimes, things like lettering & logo's are taken for granted but you can see in the main image and a slightly altered version below, how their placement can change the tone & balance of a cover. It's a fun piece that featured a lot of work from all involved. Enjoy Aidan Social/Sharing |

I agree with you about that original story, the legion wasn't as well represented as I would have liked. But this commission is great! I think that this story would have been much better.
