DescriptionI purchased this cover directly from Scott McDaniel. This is the cover to FFG, one of the most famous DD stories. It is from DD issue #319 - #325. As some of you may already know, I'm a big DD and McDaniel fan, so this was a must!Cover Date: May 1994 Thank you to Scott McDaniel, a Great Artist and Gentleman. Thanks guys, I really love the use of shadows in this. McDaniel really knows how to give DD that dark image.

Amazing how the figures emerge by sculpting out the black. Truly impressive, I must check out more of McDaniel's art

I nearly pulled the trigger on this piece a few times, but always had too many deals on the go !!!!
Anyway, what a piece, and a very worthy collection to be part of. Congratulations my friend.

I lusted after this piece for awhile too, but ultimately pursued another piece I had my eye on. For me, one of the greatest things about CAF is the exposure to artists whose work I have not followed or am not familiar with. Scott McDaniel is one of those artists I somehow missed during his DD comic book run. His DD artwork--and this one in particular--is just so stunning, It's amazing how he can convey so much detail and power with this style of artwork. Congrats on a great pick up. Marvel should have used Scott's uncolored art for the published cover. So much better than the colored work they actually published in my opinion.
