Description

Many of the early Paddy Payne stories were reprinted in picture libraries or later issues of Lion, which had a different page size. As a result, the originals were cut apart with panels being trimmed, overlapped, or disgarded. The 1970s Lion stories required half-pages and the taped together example above is one of those. The three panels below with Payne flying a captured Fieseler Storch are drawn by Garry Keane, the feature's first artist.
