Arthur Adams is one of the few modern artists capable of comfortably mixing both stylized, cartoonish elements and photorealistic skill, often in the same image. This action-packed example of Adams' skill uses exaggerated proportions and foreshortened composition to give a sense of epic scale and manic energy, while using a craftsman's skill in carefully delineating identifiable portraiture of each of the X-Men to portray the panic and drama of the situation.
