Description

Most would consider this the most unusual piece in my collection, since I lean toward the photo-realistic comic book and strip items. The late Sheldon Mayer was always great, and Sugar and Spike was one of the greatest comics of all time, and one suitable for readers from the very young to adults.

Many years ago I happened upon a number of Mayer's great Scribbly comic book issues, and I wish I still had those today. And a Scribbly original page, if any still exist, would be awesome indeed.

This is a cool page from early 1967 with Sugar in all but one panel, and Spike is in every panel including the nice larger full figure shot in panel 4. In addition, one of the parents makes an appearance in the last panel (no face shown, of course!), and it features the prototypical situation of Sugar engaged in mischief for which Spike winds up catching the blame. Definitely a classic example from the comic book title!
