Trevor VonEeden does not do things in a half-hearted manner. He went all out on this unusual piece. I saw the original cover of this on fellow CAF'er Michael Lovitz site (and you REALLY should check out his Amazing Galleries ) and I fell in love with it.

Since one or two folks over on Legion World got into one of those legendary message boards arguments about if The Phantom Stranger & Dr Fate could legitimately be in a Legion story like Metallic Messiah ....

We decided this awesome cover could give Trevor a chance to shine & give the Metallic Messiah Nay-Sayers, a continuity answer they could live with..

The ghostly figures on the original Ultraforce cover (now depicted as Kid Eternity, Dr Fate and The Phantom Stranger ) was originally done digitally by the very talented George Perez but Trevor went old school with pencil and wax papers as seen in the images below. If you look closely you can even see a tiny Phantom Girl keeping guard in the distance.

The details are great and it was a lot of fun pulling another thread together in the Infinite Timelines tapestry..

Russ Payne did an awesome job enhancing Trevor's work. I love the fact that he put the "Metallic Messiah Prequel" tag in a bubble..giving it a very Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz feel..
