Another grail! When this auction ended in November I was pinching myself that I was the last man standing and the lucky winner of this Finch/Miki masterpiece. It is no secret that I am a fan of the Avengers Disassembled story line. To have 1 of the 4 covers is still amazing to me. David Finch art is what inspired me to start collecting original comic art and what an exciting trip it has been to go from sketches and interior pages to a Finch cover. When I started out something like this piece seemed totally unattainable.

In my mind this cover has it all: a key Bendis story, huge images of Iron Man and Captain America my 2 favorite Avengers, Scarlet Witch, (certainly key to the story,) my favorite modern comic art duo and one of the climactic issues of my favorite comic.

In my opinion this may be the single best image of Iron Man ever done by David Finch and one of his top ever images of Captain America. Obviously also featuring Scarlet Witch and She-Hulk.

Spoiler Alert: It was Wanda, just look at those lying eyes.

Don't laugh at me for this; But that hand has a large part to do with why I love this cover so much. First off the detail in the armor in general is so cool but the hand especially, with the individual screws at each knuckle. Secondly, the way David Finch uses the arm and hand coming forward gives such a sense of perspective and fills what would have been empty space. Think of how different this cover would look if Iron Man had both arms at his side. Bottom line, I agree with your comment completely!

Holy sh#t! You got a true blue full metal Finch classic piece! So jealous. This was a classic tale indeed...I had never heard of a whole team being hit this hard in a comic until this (as most of the bad stuff in Marvel happened to the X-Men...lol). Ironic...as this story also taught me of the almight that is Scarlet Witch! And finally, Finch and Miki...like PB and J just make pure happiness together. Congrats!
