Description
There's just something about a girl straddling a rocket...

Phil Moy is an old hand at doing Roxy Rocket, an obscure Batman villainess. I asked him to do a commission based on the most indiscrete moment in the whole Bruce Timm Batman/Superman group of cartoons.

In this scene, at the end of "The Ultimate Thrill", Roxy sits astride her rocket facing Batman, playing a game of chicken. She's taken off her coat and her pants (she's wearing black tights and you have to be paying attention to notice that she throws two big articles of clothing at Batman earlier and is sans her khaki pants afterward. Incidentally, how do you take off tight pants while straddling a rocket?) Then she dares Batman to veer the rocket from some approaching cliffs.

When Batman not only refuses to abort their apparently certain death but prevents Roxy from doing so, she has an interesting reaction. In relevant part, she says, "Oh baby, you're the best!"; "Yeah! Yeah!!! YEAH!!!" and "I knew it would be that way!"* It is, to my knowledge, the only time an orgasm has been portrayed in a mainstream cartoon allegedly aimed at kids.

In this picture, some other kind of mayhem is setting her off. Phil did this right, a bargain at twice the agreed price.

*There's a joke that begins, "So you know what a woman says when she has had the best #@*&^% she's ever had?" The joke is that the other person will say, "No, what?" revealing that he has never gotten a woman into that situation. Any of these quotes from Roxy will do nicely. I know.

Loved that episode. For some reason, many people didn't care for the episodes made at the end of this version of the Batman's run. I thought the animation was smoother, the character designs superior, and the stories more entertaining than what had preceded them. Thanks for sharing your awesome art collection. Cheers! Jose'
