Description
Presenting the inaugural appearance of Marshal Bonehead, the appropriately-named leader of the at-times comically unlucky Skull Possee. The Skull Possee are an interesting study in contrast - savage, anarchic raiders (with an undeniable touch of Milligan-esque camp), they are what Bad Company could so easily be without the leadership of Kano. Instead, Bonehead is a kind of faux-Kano - all mouth and no purpose. It's not for nothing that on the page before this one, Kano states: "I am Bad Company... and we do what I say." Well, Marshal Bonehead is the Skull Possee - an undeniably fierce load of nothing. And if you're looking at him and thinking you've seen him somewhere before outside of comics - well, Brett Ewins states that the model for Bonehead was none other than boxer Frank Bruno! Ewins notes that the Bad Company team "wanted to feature black characters predominantly in all roles, as up to that time there had been a distinct lack of black representation in British comics." That brainbow certainly might've been handy in the ring - know what I mean, Danny?

Such a great page. Even though Marshal Bonehead wasn't around for long, he made such an impact.
