Description

Once again, I can't thank my buddy Hart Rieckhof (and all of the artists involved) for this very thoughtful and generous gift. It's funny, I've been trying to think of a way to create a jam with Freeze and he sends me this. You're too kind, sir. I LOVE it!!! Below, I've included the story behind the piece. Enjoy.

"This piece has been in the works since February 2013. Actually I should say it started in February...the idea materialized mid-October 2012. I told my friend (and DC's Wonder Woman artist), Drew the concept...he told me that he would be happy to do the Jam. So at one of the cons (Long Beach) that I attended with him we got started on the piece...first I had to make sure the art was going to be on DC Bristol Board (very important for a DC Character imo). Next I hit up Meredith McClaren for the first version; Cory Walker (Image's Invincible) for the second; Joel Gomez (Wildstorm Studios) for the forth and Drew Johnson for the third version. Meredith & Cory managed to finish their versions at the con...Joel took the page home to work on his version...I paid him to ship the art to Drew...then I had Drew send the penciled piece to his long-time star inker, Ray Snyder to apply inks and backgrounds. And now you have the finished piece after four months of logistics and corralling artists (they can be soooo slow sometimes, eh! :)

Such diversity in style and tone. Drew's Freeze is transcendent. What a well-conceived jam piece. Super-jealous of this one.
