Father's Day Superman Part 04

Now we focus on the cape. Admittedly I read Superman: Secret Origins and noticed how Gary Frank and company used less solid blacks for the underside of the cape. To that end, I chose to use Salmon Red for the base tone, Coral for the second tone, and Lipstick Red for the darker areas. I'm also contemplating using a Salmon Pink Prismacolor pencil to enhance the parts of the material that would be directly in the view of the sun. I also purchased a cloud blue pencil to either enhance the musculature of the body in certain areas, or flesh out the clouds I will put in down the line. More as it develops.
