Description

This is the culmination of 3 weeks of work. A client requested that, for her daughter, that I depict her father as Superman as a Father's Day gift from her. This is a 9 x 12" Strathmore board with a combination of Prismacolor pencil crayons (scholar and higher) Copic Markers, and Copic graphic pens. Aside from the figure itself - especially the cape - I'm most proud of the background. Given the marker couldn't fully cover the area, I had to think on my feet and used those lighter areas to my advantage and rendered them as a less dense group of clouds in between the thicker buildup and deepened the blue in between those areas and brought out the white with prismacolor. Overall a worthwhile effort and a warm up to another Superman commission.
