This is one of the few Cerebus pages that Dave Sim put up for auction with Heritage. I had a chance to talk with him during the lot viewing, and he pegged this page as the most significant of the lot.

By itself, it's just Cerebus trying on a custom made suit and admiring the results. It shows off Sim's storyboarding skills and has 12 distinctly drawn Cerebuses, although some might say that it lacks the action needed for a good comic page.

However, the Cerebus saga was just as much about religion and politics as it was about action. This page shows the clear transition the main character takes from barbarian to politician. Once he puts on that suit, Cerebus commits to the High Society storyline, leaving his Conan-style adventures behind him.

Stellar Cerebus page. I entirely agree with your description, this is a defining moment in the High Society narrative. AND, it's a clear proof of the undisputed talent of Mr. Sim, on of the greates graphic storytellers ever.
