Jae LEE 1993 NAMOR the SUB-MARINER 35 pg 10 vs TIGER SHARK

Jae’s run on Namor was one of the best things that happened in comics back in the early 90’s. His incredible talent was visible from the beginning, when he drew a Beast story for Marvel Comics Presents, but it was his work on Namor that elevated him to one of the most recognizable new talents of the industry. I remember how scary everything in the books looked to me as a kid, but at the same time I aknowledged the intensity and melancholic beauty of his work, primary created by all the shadows and a Sienkiewicz touch to his drawings. Jae‘s interpretation of the characters was in its own way revolutionary, I have never seen a better and scarier looking Tiger Shark before (and after). Love this page for all these aspects and the fact that it is simply a perfect panel page matched superbly by the words of writer Bob Harras. Namor against his nemesis Tiger Shark! It doesn’t get much better than this!
