Nick Cardy - Bat Lash 3 Page 8

I've read that Bat Lash is rumoured to have been a success in Europe when it was published in the early 70's. Well, I don't know for sure, but what I can tell is that, in France, it had the distinction of being published in its very own book, even if it was one of these black & white pocket-sized anthologies!...

It doesn't distract from the fact that it was a fantastic strip, mixing western, adventure, romance and humour to great effect! And it took no less an artist than Nick Cardy to give it life so well...

I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to get a Bat Lash page. To me, this one is a typical example of the series, with action and burlesque blending effortlessly.

I even think the ageing of the page adds some charm to the art! And it even has the added bonus of being signed by all 4 of its creators: Nick Cardy, of course, but also Sergio Aragones, Denny O'Neil and Carmine Infantino!
