2000AD Prog 1743; Judge Dredd; Day of Chaos: Nadia, Part 1, Page 6

It's another Nadia page, which was my favourite story from the Day of Chaos series. It's a tough call as to whether this is my favourite page from the story, so let's just say it's one of my favourites :-) In the text, it is the first mention we get of "The Eve of Destruction" - later to be the title of the 20 episode story that brings Mega City One to it's knees.

I love the depiction of Nadia in the bottom panel. But Ben didn't. He drew it first time front-on, facing the reader, but didn't like it. So he re-drew it with Nadia's head turned slightly to the left, and stuck it over the original. You can see the original pens if you turn the page and look carefully at the marker seep through.

However, a note on the back of the page reveals Ben's continuing frustration: "Must tidy up face MORE!". So he drew it again - this time on a separate piece of A4. I've included this in the additional images. This one, on the A4, is the one that appears in the published version.

I got this page from Ben himself, and he's signed it for me too. A real pleasure to deal with him - cheers fella!
